So the from the OWH website were as follows:
Bloghop theme: Make a red, white, and blue card in one of the themes below, and we hope you’ll use one of our OWH sketches. We’ll be offering a little prize for a randomly selected card in each category:
- Love cards
- Missing you cards
- Thank you cards
- Birthday cards
- AnyHero cards with notes inside written TO them!
I wanted to do a card for each category, so started with the easiest thing to do for the red/white/blue theme, the AnyHero card.
This little gal is "Saluting Marci" from La La Land Crafts. You can find their catalog of all their stamps here
I used one of the Operation Write Home sketches (#79) and embellished a little by flipping it and using a strip of striped paper instead of the individual strips.
Card #2 is from OWH Sketch #165
and my "Thinking of You Card"
(and of course, I realize it was suppose to be missing you, not thinking of you! ARGH!!) My birthday card submission has no sketch, and unfortunately is a little messy, when it comes to my inky fingers....... and the clock was ticking, so I went with it and will redo at a later date.
For my "love" card, I decided to crazy with hearts and use my "under-used" heart embossing folder.
The details for Sketch 109
and my card
after I made the card, I thought I should have used my star embossing folder, but it is suppose to be a love card, right???
And my final card is done with this OWH Sketch
And my card
Hope everyone is enjoying the hop and have a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend.

I love the image on your Any Hero card! You entered all the challenges - WOW! All your cards are wonderful, and your interpretation of the sketches is my style...use them as take-off points, feeling free to put your own spin on them, like the one with the striped paper. You're very talented!
Oh my goodness each card is prettier than the next, great job and how talented you are.

LOVE all your cards but the little girl is so nicely colored; I think that one is my favorite.
You did a wonderful job with these cards and i especially like the way you colored the little girl
These cards are each so great! I think the heart embossing folder was a great choice for the love you card with the stars. Thanks for sharing so many terrific examples.

Great group of cards Joanie! I have the Saluting Marcie and had totally forgotten about her. She makes a great Any Hero card too. Now that you've reminded me of her I'll have to get busy coloring a few. Thanks for joining in the hop and supporting OWH!

Great group of cards!

great idea for a whole set of cards
THANKS
WOW -- impressive way to make a whole set of cards. And, love that you used different sketches/layouts for each one. TFS!
You've been busy making some very pretty and patriotic cards!
These are sensational cards.
My favorite is the Love You card. I know you thought stars would be better for embossing, but I like the hearts - since the paper has stars, the hearts tie in with the little heart in front. Great job with all of the cards!
Nice cards - all of them. Really good choice of patterned paper. Good job!
Wow, these cards are all great. I love the sketches you all used.
lovely lovely cards!!!
Love them all! I just cannot pick one.... love the colors and love behind them :)
These are all great cards! I love the one with the little girl on it.
Wonderful cards. I like the sketches you used and the papers.
You were a very busy woman. Great variety of cards. My favorite is the love card with heart embossing. Thanks for supporting OWH.
I'm a sucker for stars and stripes. Super cards.
Thank you for showing the sketches-so helpful for us newbies!
I like that you rotated the first sketch. I always forget I can do that!
In Thinking of you...I might pass on a paper like that but I really like how it works! I am very conscious of size scale right now while learning.
Same thing with the Love card..the embossed hearts are very close in size to the stars on the paper. Doesn't have to be but sometimes that helps pull together different things right?
You did SO much for this! Thank you for making and sharing with us!
Wow, you have been a busy bee! Your interpretations of the sketches were great and I love the coloring on the first one. Nice job!
I liked and was impressed with everyone of your cards! You did a terrific job of using different sketches.
WOW! all the cards are so nice! Excellent image on the fist one and I love how you made the card as a vertical. Those red and white stripes works so well! The thinking of you card is perfect --love the use of off white there but also the white on the Miss you card. (and the striped blue for the star embellishment. The b-day cupcake is very clever. The love card is super-sweet, and the Thanks is so cool because of the different width background blocks and the flower. TFS
All the cards are so cute! I love that little girl saluting! Precious! Thank you!
Great cards -- each and every one of them. Loved your paper choices.
That cupcake looks good enough to eat
Zowie! Great cards! What an inspiration you are to me!
Love how the ribbon on the first card echoes the paper. Thanks for supporting OWH!
What a great assortment of cards. Your dedication to the cause is inspiring! I am particularly in love with. Saluting. Marci though...so she's my favorite!
