A little trip...

I decided to take a break from work and crafting and visit my family in Ohio.  My mother is 91+ and it is sad to see how our bodies and minds start to fade.  I wonder if this my fate... I don't think I want to live as long as she has.  Her husband (my dad) has been gone 20 years.  She has two sisters that are still living, but the rest of her family is gone.  Grand kids and great-grand kids are enjoyable, but most of her friends are gone, or in nursing homes.  I am grateful that she can get around like she does... But know that one slip, fall or "spell" could drastically change things.

So card making is taking a break, but my card magazines are with me and I am sure I will be looking at blogs...

Happy card making!

OWH Midweek Throwdown Challenge with Lawn Fawn

My first post/blog with a picture first stab at it!   This week’s challenge is to make cards for kids and include scallops.

I used Spellbinders rectangles to create the image and then the scallop rectangle.  I do love my Spellbinders.... I have a ton (well not really a ton, but you know what I mean).  The bunny is "Winter Bunny" from Lawn Fawn.  I do love the stamps, they are high quality and give a great image to color.  I was going to use Copics on the little guy, but decided to use my SU blender pen.  I haven't used that in awhile.
The ribbon is something I picked up with coupon ages ago at either Michael's or JoAnn's.

So with that said.... let's see how this looks:

Alrighty then.... must work on a better method of posting pictures..... will have to get some tips from some of the blogs/friends that have awesome pictures posted.

September 4 2012

So I have finally decided to take the plunge and begin a blog.  I'm hoping to participate in the World Card Making Day in October and thought I'd give myself  a month to get use to blogging and then perhaps be able to post cards/challenges on my blog, or perhaps not... then it's back to the trusty Splitcoast Stampers website.

This is a work in progress, most people won't see these initial posts...
